We just went through a week long heat spike in the Napa Valley. While it is pretty normal, we have to pay attention and make sure everyone gets enough water. That goes for people, dogs, AND vines! Heidi does a great job of explaining what is going on this time of year.

Racking the 2007 Cabernet

Right now, the vines are pretty low maintenance until we get closer to green harvest so we turn our attention to the wines aging in the cellar. This week our associate winemaker, Jon Leahy talks about the process of “racking” wine. With temperatures topping out above 105 degrees this week, it is a good time to be in the 59 degree cave!
